Dave and Ping Pong are twin identical common loon bean scouts from Camp Kidney. They are Samson's cabin mates. They get a bag of pretzels from their homeland each year, as seen in Friendward. Unlike any other bird bean scout, they can fly. The only way to tell the two apart is that Ping Pong's neck is taller while Dave's neck is shorter. Similar to Chip and Skip, they are twins. They are very sarcastic towards Edward. They got revenge on him for insulting them in Ed's Benedict by sneaking an egg into his bed as a prank and tricking him into thinking he laid it.

Despite them having the same sarcastic wit, Dave is a bit more sensitive and easily impressionable than his brother. He used to write letters to his grandma every day, as seen in Boxing Edward, but Edward tricked him out of it in order to get stamps to mail himself out of camp. So he decides to mail himself to his grandma, causing more problems for Edward. In 7 Deadly Sandwiches, he chose to suspend from a rope around his waist above the stage for "dramatic effect". This backfires when Scoutmaster Lumpus tries to pull on the rope from a corner of the stage to make an outfit for himself, causing poor Dave to go flying back and forth and the set to collapse.

Ping Pong's name could possibly be given from the episode Parasitic Pal where the scouts are playing ping pong. As the episode was going to be first episode.

Trivia

• The fact they are twins is likely because loons lay two eggs. And why they are loons is possibly because loons can be found in North American campsites.
• Dave and Ping Pong bear a striking resemblance in figure to Chuck and Leon from Murray's other cartoon "Rocko's Modern Life". as both are tall wins with long necks and big noses. Both also run media loons-camp paper chameleons-home movies. However while Dave and Ping Pong have the voice actor and are different heights, Chuck and Leon are about the same height and have different voice actors. Both twins can be obnoxious at times but the Chameleon brothers are far more annoying and much bigger jerks, but still sets of twins are still friendly.
• Despite being loons they look a lot more like ostriches and rheas having longer bald necks. Also loons can't walk on land and can barely walk, as they rarely go on land other than nesting, resting, and mating. Loons spending most of their lives swimming other parts flying.
• Despite being aquatic birds they only made it to Sea Cow level and not sharks for their swim test.
• Originally Dave was going to be names to one of the Dung Beatles as in the pilot. Likely changed from Skip and Chip from Dale and Dave based on Chip and Dale from Disney. Both names were used for two O-Town news reporters who worked alongside each other in Rocko's Modern Life.
• Despite being loons, Dave and Ping Pong don't look anything like their species. In reality, loons are black with spots.
• We see Ping-Pong's crouch when he sits on a pinecone.
• The loons have a retainer.
