"No Beads, No Business" is a Camp Lazlo episode from season 2. In this episode, When Raj gets his turn to run the camp store, business is slow until Lazlo decides to help him.
Plot[]
Slinkman is hosting a game show called "Wheel of Duties", where the Bean Scouts spin a wheel and get assigned the chore they land on. Raj wants to run the camp store. Dave spins first and lands on raking leaves. Clam spins and is assigned to be the camp therapist. Raj takes his turn and at first, he seems to be assigned as the camp mascot, but it lands on the camp store to his relief. Edward doesn't get Raj's joy as the store's currency is necklace beads as opposed to real money. He spins and his chore is to shave Lumpus's back to his chagrin.
Raj is preparing the camp store for its opening while customers are lining up. Samson needs masal spray, Edward needs more razors for Lumpus, and Skip needs pants. Raj takes so long to set up that the customers leave. With no business, Raj starts to think he is not cut out for the store until Lazlo, who has just finished his chore of dredging Leaky Lake, shows up to help him. Raj trains Lazlo on how the store works and reminds him kf the store's slogan of "No beads, no business".
Lazlo is attracting customers in informing of its opening. Dave and Ping-Pong wish to purchase chicken milk, but they have no beads to pay for it. Nonetheless, Lazlo sells it to them in exchange for a flower. Raj reminds Lazlo that they can't sell anything if the customers can't afford it. However, Lazlo ends up selling Chip and Skip the pants the latter needed in exchange for a poem they wrote. Raj reminds him of the slogan, which Lazlo botches. Raj, irritated by Lazlo's incompetence, assigns him to arrange the storage boxes. He then takes care of the sales department.
Samson returns to get his desired nasal spray but tells Raj he doesn't have the beads for it but still wants some jse of it. Raj refuses to let him use it until he pays for it. He notices the ice cream sandwich Samson is holding and is enticed to have it. Lazlo checks in on Raj to see how sales are doing to find out that he traded the nasal spray to Samson for the ice cream sandwich. Shocked over Raj's hypocrisy, Lazlo reminds him of the slogan (in the form of the boxes arranged to spell it) and informs Raj that he's just like him when it comes to sales. This causes a dispute between the two where they throw the store's entire inventory which everyone takes for free. The store collapses due to Raj pulling out the nails and they are at an impasse. They decide to see Clam to settle it.
Clam tries to get them to talk, but when they do not, he suggests that they use sock puppets to roleplay as each other. As they do so, they start roleplaying a life or death situation. Everyone takes notice kfkf this and watches them perform. The roleplay rekindles their friendship and pleases their unintended audience.
Later, Scoutmaster Lumpus (now shaven) checks on the store where Lazlo and Raj admit they didn't earn any beads. He points out how Clam has been charging beads for campers to play sock puppets.
