Slinkman is the assistant scoutmaster to Wumpus, supporting protagonist and the property of Camp Kidney.

He, like Wumpus, is voiced by Tom Kenny.

Personality

Slinkman is a yellow slug, and like a real slug, Slinkman is an invertebrate organism.

He knows the Bean Scout handbook cover-to-cover (although he seems to always read it upside down). He's shown to be loyal, kind and obedient. Even though Slinkman is the one who basically runs Camp Kidney, he still has to answer to Scoutmaster Wumpus. Also, he generally assumes a submissive role, doing nearly everything for Wumpus and almost always obeying his every command.

There have been a handful of situations where Slinkman stood up to Wumpus, such as in "Slugfest," where he tried to hold him to a promise made upon Slinkman's employment that he would have three days off every five years when the Slugfest was going on. After Lumpus denied him, Slinkman suffered a temporary emotional breakdown, destroying many of Wumpus' possessions, belching into the camp PA system, and licking Wumpus' hands, getting slug slime all over them. However, these instances are the exception and are usually only when Slinkman's compliant, non-confrontational nature is pushed to the limit.

Slinkman has to do a lot of back-breaking work as assistant scoutmaster, and has been working there essentially non-stop for five years. Slinkman loves the campers, particularly those of Jelly Bean Cabin, and sometimes will join their ranks despite being much older. As seen in "Lights Out," Slinkman is a master at shadow puppets, complete with a perfect imitation of Scoutmaster Wumpus. In "Beans and Pranks," Slinkman is ordered by Wumpus to infiltrate Jellybean Cabin and find proof that they are the ones pranking him every year on June ninth, only to reveal to the audience, while writing his diary, that he does it each year to get back at Wumpus for forgetting his birthday; afterwards, Wumpus gives him a gift and says "by the way, the handwriting in your diary? Atrocious." He has a not-so-secret desire to be a race-car driver and reads racing magazines. It was revealed in "Slugfest" that Scoutmaster Wumpus actually enjoys hanging out with Slinkman. In the first few seasons, Slinkman always carried around a clipboard, saying, "yes, sir", almost every time he was ordered by Lumpus to do something. As the series progresses, Slinkman says "yes sir", less and less, eventually dropping it as a catchphrase.

He also used to be the camp's local daredevil when he was a Bean Scout along with Lumpus, but had to stop when Lumpus secretly sabotaged his last jump.

Slinkman can run as fast as all the other characters and possibly faster, while ironically being a slug. He was a replacement for Jane Doe while she was away, and ends up developing a attitude similar to Lumpus' after being treated unfairly by the Squirrel Scouts, but when they were in real danger, Slinkman realized he was behaving like Lumpus, and after reverting to his normal self, saved the Squirrel Scouts. Slinkman's catchphrase is "Hey man, how's it goin'?, which aggravates Lumpus. We actually see a flashback from Slinkman's point of view, where Lumpus is pouring salt on Slinkman as punishment for not confiscating the campers' candy; this may lend itself towards explaining Slinkman's periodic eruptions.

When boating around the Squirrels Scouts' camp, Slinkman and Lumpus were often prey to the watermelons thrown by Ms. Mucus. Slinkman later learns to counter them by smashing with a baseball bat. Slinkman and Lazlo appear to be kindred spirits; when the new Bean Scout Handbook edition is about to be delivered, both of them are extremely excited, going to the post office to eagerly await it's delivery.

Slinkman used to perform very dangerous stunts, and was nicknamed "Super Slug" before he became Lumpus' assistant in Camp Kidney. He was a daredevil supreme of Camp Kidney until he almost died in one of his stunts, causing him to quit his stunt carrier due to Lumpus sabotaging the stunt by sticking his leg out to trip the car, thus nearly flinging Slinkman to his doom. Slinkman had a book called "Super Slug" in his time capsule, and 20 year later he would have a beard and would have grey eyebrows.

He had fond memories of Camp Kidney when Edward's brothers were there, and had no idea that they actually intimidated all of the other campers.

Trivia

• His first name wasn't mentioned, but he suggested in the episode "Club Kidney-Ki", that his first name was "Kahuna," as a "Hawaiin-sounding" name while he was on vacation.
• Slinkman's birthday is revealed to be June ninth in "Beans and Pranks."
  • Lumpus often forgets Slinkman's birthday, which is why Slinkman pranks him each year on his birthday.
• What happens to Slinkman in the series finale is unknown. It is not entirely clear if he remained in Camp Kidney, followed Lumpus in the ambulance, or returned home.
• Slinkman was referred as "Super Slug" a daredevil until a fatal accident that almost killed him.
