"The Great Snipe Hunt" is a Camp Lazlo episode from season 2. In this episode, Scoutmaster Lumpus sends the scouts on a wild-goose chase after a snipe.
Plot[]
Lumpus wakes up the Bean Scouts in the dead of night and takes them into the forest. The scouts wonder what they might be doing once they get there. Lumpus explains to them that they have to capture called a "snipe". Once they catch it, they must put it in a cage and bring it back to his office. He takes his leave and observes the hunt from a secret treetop area.
Lazlo prepares for the hunt, but Edward tells him that one of his brothers, a former Bean Scout, told him everything. The snipe hunt is a prank Lumpus pulls every year and the supposed snipe doesn't exist. It seems Lumpus's prank is now ruined only for it to restart when Lazlo doesn't believe Edward and insists on the hunt. The other Bean Scouts go back to their cabins, leaving the Jelly Beans the only ones to go on the hunt.
The Jellies try using all sorts of ways to lure the snipe out to no avail. Once morning comes, Lumpus, having slept in his treehouse, falls down in the cage and a nest of bird eggs lands in his throat, making him unable to speak. When the Jellies check on the cage, they find a messy Lumpus locked in, not recognizing their own scoutmaster. They mistake him for a female snipe that they name Jennifer Soufflé. Their hunt supposedly complete, they take "Jennifer" back to Lumpus's cabin as they think he hasn't returned yet. Lumpus tries to tell them something and they realize "she" wants water. Giving her a glass, they believe snipes to be aquatic creatures and return "Jennifer" to Leaky Lake. Lazlo cries over their parting as he feels good to have helped a dumb creature like Jennifer.
Later, the Jellies tell Lumpus that his office is back in order. He orders them to leave and, as they're gone, spits out the bird nest, hoping to never hear the word "snipe" ever again. The eggs hatch, amd the birds start chanting "snipe".

- We learn that one of Edward's big brother's name is Mel. This is a continuity error, seeing as their names are later revealed to be Cheesly, Alpine, Fancy Pants and Phillip. However, Mel may actually be another Platypus brother.
- According to Edward, the snipe hunt is a trick Lumpus pulls on the Beans every year.
- There actually is a real-life creature living in the wild that is known as a snipe. Snipes are little white birds that live on rhinos in order to feast on parasites that live on the rhino's skin.
- The title of this episode refers to North America practical joke named "snipe hunt" in which an unsuspecting newcomer is duped into trying to catch an elusive, nonexistent animal called a snipe. Although snipe is an actual family of birds, a snipe hunt is a quest for an imaginary creature whose description varies.
